The Hatch Memorial Shell is one of Boston’s most beloved outdoor gathering spots, and I painted this piece during a moment of celebration—when people had come together along the Charles River to enjoy an event in the heart of the city. With picnic blankets, music in the air, and the river glistening in the background, this scene captures what I love most about Boston in the warmer months: community, joy, and shared experience.

Built in 1941 and named after benefactor Maria Hatch, the Hatch Shell has hosted everything from the Boston Pops Fireworks Spectacular on the Fourth of July to local concerts and charity walks. It's a symbol of civic life and music on the Esplanade, where Boston’s skyline meets the natural beauty of the Charles.

This original artwork was created using Posca and Molotow acrylic markers and is part of my Boston Landmarks series. It’s printed on 100# Cover Textured Matte paper for a fine art finish with rich color and detail.
